Clients have referred to this duo, and the services & vendors they provide as the “Dream Team”.
With the support of the Parry Sound Area Community Business Development Centre (CBDC) Tanis & Amy, partnered together in 2010, forming a partnership operating as A Black Tie Affair. A Black Tie Affair provided a full range of event coordination packages, & design services. At that time, the business was operating with two employees. In 2011, in coordination with the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation, Amy & Tanis launched The Brides’ Ball in conjunction with The Bra Project. This event raised awareness & funds for digital mammography. The event was a brilliant success, showcasing their professional services, which steered Amy & Tanis to future success. Within three years the business had outgrown its operating space.
In 2014, Amy and Tanis negotiated the purchase of Pardon My Garden business. Tanis then went on to obtain her certification in floral design currently making her the only Certified Floral Designer in Parry Sound. The leased premises were decluttered and reorganized to accommodate their expanded service offerings. Amy & Tanis summed it all up best with, “The expansion & subsequent company growth would not have been possible without the support, continued partnership, & lending services of the Parry Sound Area Community Business Development Centre.
The CBDC financed our business where traditional banks would not. We wouldn’t have been able to do what we both love doing each day without the CBDC.” Recently this year Tanis & Amy relocated their business to a more visible downtown location at 35 Seguin Street with extensive renovations.
Their primary focus is providing exceptional customer service with two meeting areas to service event needs. Amy & Tanis now have a pool of 6 employees they call on for events, & utilize local vendors & suppliers to assist in feeding our local economy.
Amy & Tanis have provided a full range of event coordination to over 200 weddings, corporate events and celebration of life services. They are vital supporters of the local community. They have generously supported West Parry Sound Hospice donating, time, services and merchandise to the Handbags for Hospice event and have already signed on to partner again in 2018.
