New Business Services

Ontario Launching New Services to Help Small Businesses Grow

Service Will Deliver Support Online, In-person and Over the Phone

Ontario is launching new services to help small business owners access tools, resources and funding to start and grow their business.

Jeff Leal, Minister Responsible for Small Business, joined Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, to make the announcement today in Toronto.

Small Business Access is a new, single point of access that will make it easier for small businesses to access government services to get the support they need to run and grow their business. Small business owners will be able to access resources such as hiring and training incentives for employers and information on permits or how to expand their business globally.

The government is also partnering with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to deliver 17 workshops across the province so small businesses have access to in-person support, information and advice to successfully run their business.

Supporting small businesses is part of Ontario’s plan to create fairness and opportunity during this period of rapid economic change. The plan includes a higher minimum wage and better working conditions, free tuition for hundreds of thousands of students, easier access to affordable child care, and free prescription drugs for everyone under 25 through the biggest expansion of medicare in a generation.

QUOTES

” Running a business is no small feat, taking dedication, time and hard work, and we’ve heard from small businesses owners that the government should do more to help. That’s why we are launching this new service and partnering with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to help small business owners save time and money when dealing with government. Because we know that when small businesses succeed, we all succeed.”
– Jeff Leal
Minister Responsible for Small Business

” The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is pleased to partner with the Ontario government to provide small businesses with better support, resources, and information as part of Small Business Access. Our members have been very vocal about needed support for small businesses. We are confident they will benefit from this new dedicated service by achieving a greater understanding of government programs, regulations and opportunities to ensure success.”
– Rocco Rossi
President and CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce

” Keeping up with today’s fast moving marketplace and trying to know where to look for help can be quite overwhelming. This new service is what we need, making it easier for me and my clients to access the information we want, when we need it. I look forward to being able to just pick up the phone or go online to learn about what the government can offer to help me and my clients better be able to run and grow our businesses.”
– Kim Copetti
President, Copetti & Co. Professional Corporation

Famous PEOPLE Players Show

Who are Famous PEOPLE Players

Get Off The Bus Concerts is proud to present the Famous PEOPLE Players show, “A Little Like Magic” on April 14th at The Charles W. Stockey Centre with both a matinee show at 2:00PM and an evening show at 7:00PM.

Famous PEOPLE Players – Glow in the dark Dream Theatre.  From Broadway, to Radio City Music Hall and around the World – FPP is “Where Special Happens!”

All the performers in Famous PEOPLE Players are developmentally challenged and are succeeding together to create a magic that casts a spell, promises to inspire youth and delight their audiences.

The black light performance of Famous PEOPLE Players was discovered by Liberacé, and they were his opening act in Las Vegas for 10 years. Their production of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice was part of the re-opening of Radio City Music Hall, and their success continued with two runs on Broadway and performances in China, Korea and Singapore, and throughout the United States. Their Dine & Dream Theatre in Toronto was generously sponsored by actor Paul Newman through sales of Newman’s Own products sold in Canada. He remained a very devoted supporter and honorary director of the board.

They were the first to perform at the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima during their 10 year tour of Japan. They have made television appearances on A&E Breakfast for the Arts and Bravo!, and gave a televised performance for Ronald Regan at the Shamrock Summit. Other appearances were on television series’ 7th Heaven, Red Skelton’s Funny Faces, and their Emmy-award winning CBS Movie of the Week “Special People”, based on the founding of the company.
